So you're interested in learning more about decorative concrete?

We like the way you think.

Decorative concrete is the hot new thing these days. And when you see decorative concrete that's been done right, you'll totally understand why. You can take advantage of concrete designs on the following surfaces:

  • Concrete patios
  • Concrete floors
  • Countertops
  • Pool decks
  • Entryways
  • ...and much more!

You'll find decorative concrete in the driveways of some of the most elaborate homes, or possibly polished concrete on a showroom floor of a museum. But one of the biggest things that we're getting requests for are decorative concrete patios. These are always fun projects and we welcome any inquiries or questions about this product and the process.

But one of our favorite things to do is to debunk the idea that concrete is just boring, grey and drab. Every time we're able to help a customer see the wonders that a professional decorative concrete company can work, it's extremely rewarding! We would love the opportunity to help you to see another side of this extremely versatile material that we all tend to take for granted every single day. Decorative concrete can be absolutely stunning!

Decorative Concrete Design in Irvine, CA

We get a lot of questions about the types of decorative concrete that's available. Here's a quick breakdown:

Acid-Stained Concrete - In this process, we'll take an acid-based stain and apply it to any concrete that has already cured. Following these steps, we have the ability to create just about any kind of finish that you can imagine. Since the possibilities are virtually endless, experimenting with samples is important. When applied and then topped with a high-quality sealer, you'll be looking at a beautiful and durable finished floor.

Stamped Overlays  - This is a very fun service to perform. With stamped concrete, we combine a stamp pattern and apply it to a color to achieve a unique look for your concrete. We do have standard stamps, but if you're looking for a different pattern, we can create one. It's normal to want to switch up the look of your home every few years, so if down the line you decide to do so and you need a new color for your stamped concrete, just give us a call. We can change the color of your stamped concrete, and repair any damage that we see at the same time.

Concrete Overlays - Typically used for patios and driveways, the process of applying concrete overlays is often a bit more complicated than people expect. We will mix sand, polymers, and cement together to create a special materials that works wonders for covering up old, cracked, or settling concrete (It can also be used to cover old countertops, wood, or vinyl floors...this stuff is awesome.) TruForm Concrete Specialists Irvine can stamp these overlays with a certain pattern, and color them with dyes, acid stains, or simply apply them with an integral color. But wait...there's more! They can be finished with products such as broom finish or hard polish, or even add rock to the mix and grind and polish it into a terrazzo finish after it's fully cured.

Micro Toppings (Overlays) - Maybe your existing floor has cracks, marks, or other types of damage. A micro topping overlay is perfect for covering those up. These cannot be stamped to create patterns because they're much thinner than other overlays, but stencils are still an option if you're looking for a design. Micro toppings do have their advantages, though--their thinness allows them to be layered to create different textures. When color is added, it will respond in different ways depending on how the layering has been performed.

Polished Concrete - The process of grinding and polishing rock has essentially been around since ancient times. Why is it still around today? Because everyone is still interested in affordable, low-maintenance durable surfaces for their homes and commercial spaces. If you're looking for an economical flooring option, this is definitely one to consider.

Epoxy FInishes - Epoxy finishes have been growing in popularity during the last decade or so. In this process, the concrete floor is first polished, then the epoxy coating is applied. The result is a durable, shiny, long-lasting finish that people are growing to love more and more.

Colored Concrete  - We love colored concrete because so many people are under the impression that concrete only comes in the standard grey. We love showing people what we can do with the experience, skills, and technology that we have. Ask us about what kind of decorative concrete colors are available@

FAQs About Decorative Concrete Services in Irvine

  • What decorative concrete options do I have for my floor?

This will depend on the current condition of your floor. That being said, we have quite the variety of different decorative finishes. Our recommendation is to bring us a picture of something that you like, and we'll make it happen.

  • My decorative concrete is damaged. Can it be repaired?

This depends on the extent of the damage, of course, but in most case, we are able to repair damaged decorative concrete.

  • Should I have my decorative concrete sealed?

If you ask us (and apparently you are) the answer to that is a resounding "yes." Simply walking on decorative concrete can cause the finish to wear off, whether it's indoors or outdoors. And out in the California sun, the color will get bleached away. Also, in the all too rare cases that there's rain in the forecast, if left unsealed, water can migrate into your decorative concrete. Sealing it offers protection, making it last longer.

  • Can you work with my existing concrete floor?

In most cases, the anwer is yes! The TruForm Concrete Specialists have the skills an experience needed to refurbish your existing concrete with a decorative finish.

  • Why is polished concrete a good flooring option?

Allow us to count the ways...

    1. Budget-friendly - For an existing concrete floor, polished flooring is a very cost-effective way to get a new look that can transform the look of your space without breaking the bank.

    2. Lower lighting costs - Polished concrete floors increase the quality of ambient lighting. This can result in needing less lighting fixtures to brighten up your space.

    3. Low maintenance - These are the words that everyone loves to hear. Polished concrete floors don't need sealers or wax, just a mop and a good buff every now and then.

    4. Increased safety - A freshly polished concrete floor may look like glass, but it will be surprisingly slip-resistant whether it's wet or dry because its friction co-efficiency is higher than regular concrete.

    5. Long-lasting - Polished concrete stands the test of time when it comes to life expectancy. And if any severe damage somehow occurs, the cost of refurbishing it will be a fraction of the cost of any other floor product.
